Shiga Prefecture Recycling Product Certification System
Shiga Prefecture is promoting the Biwakuru Eco Ship (Shiga Prefecture Recycling Product Certification System), a system to encourage the use of recycled products by certifying as “Biwakuru Eco Products (Shiga Prefecture Recycling Certified Products)” those products manufactured and processed at business establishments in the prefecture using recyclable resources (waste, by-products of manufacturing processes, wood, etc.) generated mainly in the prefecture and conforming to certain standards.

Okayama Prefecture Eco-Products Certification System
Based on Article 27 of the Okayama Prefecture Ordinance on the Promotion of a Sound Material-Cycle Society, which was enacted in December 2001, Okayama Prefecture established a system to certify products that contribute to the formation of a sound material-cycle society as “Okayama Prefecture Eco-Products. As of the end of September 2008, 359 products (152 businesses) have been certified.
